The Center for Native American Youth is working with the Agua Band of Cahuilla Indians to plan the first ever Generation Indigenous (Gen-I) Youth Gathering in Southern California. This is a chance for Native youth in the SoCal area to meet one another, discuss issues and priorities for your communities, and learn new ways to share your messages as young leaders and advocates.
Originally scheduled for April 13, the event has been postponed until Summer to allow for more participation of youth from neighboring Southern California tribes. Stay tuned for the announcement of the new event date.
In the meantime, we want to hear stories and updates from Native youth who have taken the #GenIChallenge. What made you want to get involved? What have you and your youth council been working on since you took the Challenge? How has your community changed as a result? Share your story on social media by using the hashtag #IAmGenI, OR email us your stories and photos. We can’t wait to hear what you’ve been up to!
