CNAY’s Executive Director, Erik Stegman, recently attended the fall conference of the Native American Finance Officers Association (NAFOA) in Charlotte, NC, where he shared information about an exciting new fellowship program called the Gen-I Career Success Fellowship. CNAY and NAFOA have partnered on this new pilot fellowship which will launch in late-fall 2016 and provide Native youth with the opportunity to enroll in a new online training program that provides basic career, banking, and personal finance skills.
After completing these online courses, a small group of these new Gen-I Career Success Fellows will also have the sponsored opportunity to travel to NAFOA’s annual conference in San Francisco and participate in a special Gen-I Career Leadership Institute where they’ll gain new leadership skills with dynamic leaders and partners from our networks.
Finally, they’ll have the opportunity to shadow corporate and tribal leaders during the conference, participate in special panels and networking sessions, and connect directly with potential employers. Stay tuned for information about the program this fall!
