In July, CNAY staff joined hundreds of young Native leaders to participate in the 2016 UNITY Conference in Oklahoma City. CNAY presented two workshops:

  1. Don’t Put Me in a Box: Reclaiming Two Spirit Identity
  2. Generation Indigenous: College and Career Readiness

Both sessions included great discussions and helped inform CNAY’s work to elevate the voices of Two Spirit and LGBTQIA+ Native youth and allies, and to identify needs and existing resources related to college and career readiness.

CNAY was also able to celebrate with UNITY’s 2016 class of 25 Under 25, including 7 of our Champions for Change! Congratulations to the 25 Under 25 – your leadership and positive efforts are inspiring!

Thank you to our Native youth presenters, and to United National Indian Tribal Youth (UNITY) for another great conference to engage and develop young Native leaders!
