CNAY Talks Oral Health at NCAI Annual Conference

CNAY traveled to the National Congress of American IndiansMidyear Conference in Spokane, WA in late-June to facilitate two oral health-focused sessions with Native youth. CNAY partnered with NCAI to host the “DHAT: Sovereignty in Action” lunch session, during which participants discussed oral health, learned about the DHAT model currently utilized in Alaska and in the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community, and identified ways to lift up Native youth voices.

CNAY’s Ryan Ward leads discussion on oral health in Indian Country and Dental Health Aide Therapists at NCAI midyear conference.

Following that session, CNAY partnered with Burness Communications and Kaufman Associates Incorporated to work with a small group of Native youth to identify effective digital campaigns.

Both sessions were a success and we are thankful for all of the amazing Native youth who joined us.
