Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board June 2016 Adolescent Health News & Notes
LGBTQ- Two Spirit. Loved & Accepted
June is LGBT Pride Month, and THRIVE is pleased to announce the release of AI/AN suicide prevention media materials to reach LGBTQ2S (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, and two spirit)! The campaign — LGBTQ – Two Spirit, Loved & Accepted. #WeNeedYouHere — was designed in collaboration with AI/AN LGBTQ and Two Spirit community members across the U.S.
THRIVE staff will automatically send 1 package per Tribe to the 43-federally recognized Tribes in ID, OR, and WA. Please contact Celena McCray at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are NOT a Tribe in the NW and would like to request a package of these new materials. Priority will be given to those working with Tribal communities. The number of materials mailed out will depend on the number of request we receive. Click here to also download materials from our website to print at your local printers or pass along.
THRIVE provides training and technical assistance on suicide prevention & media campaign development in the Pacific Northwest. ASIST and QPR trainings are offered to NW Tribes at little to no cost. Please contact email@example.com if you would like more information, or to learn more about the new “Zero Suicide” model that is being implemented nationwide.
