The Center for Native American Youth (CNAY) welcomes Keith Martinez as a summer intern. Keith is a member of the Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe from the Pine Ridge Reservation, and he recently graduated from Villanova University majoring in Communications with a Public Relations concentration.
CNAY met Keith in 2014 when he was selected to join the second class of Champions for Change, and he currently serves on CNAY’s Youth Advisory Board. Keith was recognized by CNAY for his leadership efforts with the Lakota Children’s Enrichment Project, and he continues to serve as a young advocate for Indian Country and equal access to higher education.
In addition to his connection to CNAY, Keith was awarded the Harry S. Truman Scholarship for his commitment to public service and to pursue a graduate degree. He is currently participating in the Truman Summer Institute, which created the internship opportunity at CNAY. Welcome to the team, Keith!
