CNAY Moderates Discussion on Funding Strategies for Supporting Two Spirit Youth

On March 30, CNAY’s Executive Director, Erik Stegman moderated a panel discussion on effective funding strategies for supporting Two Spirit youth. The session was part of Funding Forward 2016, an annual convening of grantmakers dedicated to LGBTQ issues.

During the discussion, panelists Sarah Eagle Heart (CEO of Native Americans in Philanthropy), Kevin Jennings (Executive Director of the Arcus Foundation), Nathan Thornhill (Two Spirit Youth Advocate), and Lenny Hayes (Mental Health Therapist and Owner and Operator of Tate Topa Consulting, LLC) each described the need for culturally competent approaches to investing in Two-Spirit youth based on their individual experiences as advocates and practitioners.

The conference was hosted by Funders for LGBTQ Issues, an organization whose mission it is to increase philanthropic giving to LGBTQ committees.
