On Wednesday, November 18, the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) hosted a webcast entitled “Engaging and Empowering Native Youth”, which aimed to highlight effective youth engagement strategies. 2015 Champions for Change Rory Taylor (Pawnee) and Jazmyn Espinoza (Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohican) joined as youth panelists to discuss the Champions for Change program, each of their own youth-led initiatives that address critical issues in their communities, how other young people can get involved in CFC and other youth engagement initiatives, and what organizations like HRSA can do to further incorporate and engage youth in their work.
The Champions for Change program has been recognized as an excellent model for youth engagement and leadership development. As a reminder, applications for the 2016 class of Champions for Change are being accepted until the January 11, 2016 deadline.
