For the first time, this roundtable featured substantial participation from non-Native advocacy organizations as part of CNAY’s efforts to increase the number of stakeholders engaged in work to better the lives of Native American children. The White House, Senator Dorgan and two Champions for Change – Sarah Schilling and Lauren McLester-Davis – provided remarks at the meeting, which featured almost 40 attendees from federal agencies, national tribal organizations and ally organizations such as the Children’s Defense Fund, National Education Association, First Focus and the Center for American Progress.
