Four of CNAY’s Champions for Change – William Lucero, Lummi Nation; Keith Martinez, Oglala Lakota Sioux; Vance Home Gun, Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes; and Dahkota Brown, Wilton Miwok – attended a town hall with President Obama where the President announced new commitments in support of the My Brother’s Keeper initiative and engaged in dialogue with young men of color on July 21. In his remarks, President Obama thanked the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) and their partners for committing to establish an MBK task force for Native American boys and men. NCAI will form the task force in partnership with CNAY and other partner organizations. During the town hall, President Obama also took a thoughtful, important question from Champion Vance! Our Champions were able to take advantage of this opportunity thanks to the generous financial support of the Native American Contractors Association.
