centers, and hospital-based injury prevention centers.

  • Build member state capacity to develop

Suicide Prevention Basics and How to Get Started

Webinar: October 23 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. eastern time

This webinar will provide the basics about suicide
prevention. The first speaker, Smita Varia, of the Suicide Prevention Resource
Center will provide the basics about the burden of suicide, information on
different prevention strategies, and some examples of programs. Following
Smita, Richard Burleson and Brandi Pouncey from the Alabama Department of
Public Health will give a real world perspective by discussing their experience
with getting started in suicide prevention work.

SxSW IPN webinar or conference calls are held on the 4th
Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. eastern time. Archive of past Presentations and Meeting Minutes are available online.
