This
listserv item shares information about the 2013 Alaska
Native Tribal Health Consortium Scholarship
!

The Alaska Native
Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC)
is a non-profit corporation that compacts with the federal government to
provide healthcare-related services to over 140,000 Alaska Natives and
American Indians. To help increase the number of Alaska Natives and American
Indians in the healthcare field, ANTHC  awards five (5) scholarships up
to $5,000 per academic year to Native students, who are:

  • Permanent
    Alaska residents;
  • Interested
    in working in the healthcare field; and

  • Currently
    enrolled in a formal education or training program.

These
scholarships can be used for tuition, books, and fees for professional
certificate programs or higher education degrees – including Associates,
Bachelors and PhDs.

Applications include an application form, proof of tribal eligibility, Alaska
residency, personal statement, two letters of recommendation, letter of
acceptance, and an official education or training
transcripts/documentation.  Click

Founded by former US Senator Byron Dorgan, the
Center is a policy program within the Aspen Institute, headquartered in
Washington, DC. While a part of the Aspen Institute, the Center is also
overseen by a Board of Advisors. The goal of the Center is to bring greater
national attention to the issues facing Native American youth, and to foster
solutions, with special emphasis on youth suicide prevention.
