Yesterday, Indian Country Today published a story about the Center for Native American Youth launching the new Champions for Change initiative. The story can be viewed at: http://indiancountrytodaymedianetwork.com/article/center-native-american-youth-debuts-champions-change-youth-leadership-program-aims-affect. It includes some great photos and information about the Champions program.
The Champions for Change program, a White House spin-off, was launched in November 2012 to recognize and encourage young Native American leaders who are creating positive change in their communities. Five finalists will be selected and recognized for their efforts in Washington, D.C. each year, along with serving a two-year term on a Center Youth Advisory Board. Youth are encouraged to apply at: http://cnay.org/Champions_for_Change.html.
