2012 National Suicide Prevention Week: September 4 – 10

National Suicide Prevention Week started on September 4 and culminates with World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10.

You can visit the following organizations to learn how to get involved, raise awareness about this public health problem and help save lives.

Suicide prevention efforts can be as diverse as the 566 federally-recognized tribes in Indian Country. Prevention can be identified as trainings, programs, organizations as well as other community efforts. The Center invites you to visit our One-Stop Shop Resource Center to find a comprehensive list of suicide prevention resources and please contact us if you’d like to learn more about any one resource or have a suggestion about an initiative that should be added to our list.

You can also read the Center’s “Voices of Native Youth Report” and “Native American Youth 101” to learn more about the issue of suicide prevention and other Native youth priorities in Indian Country.
